This Yellow Halo Headdress was worn as a form of status revealing ranks among warriors among the Sioux, Crow, Cheyenne, Blackfoot, Assinniboine and Plains Cree. Each feather was earned by counting coup, brave deeds or other accomplishments
This carefully crafted art piece includes hand-painted white turkey feathers to imitate eagle feathers. The red feathers symbolize strength, vitality/life force, good fortune and good health. The custom lazy bead work on the brow band and detailed accents are all handcrafted by Russ Kruse.  Ermine tubes accentuate the bottom of the headdress. The leather construction ensures years of durability and beauty for the owner of this piece.
