This exceptional vintage concha belt by Navajo silversmith Jacob Livingston is a masterwork of hand-engraved silversmithing and turquoise inlay artistry. Ten substantial sterling silver conchas — each measuring 2.75" wide by 2" tall — are individually hand-stamped with an intricate flowing vine and leaf motif, at the center of which perches a hand-inlaid turquoise cardinal, accented with vivid coral dot berries that bring the design to life with warmth and color.

The engraving on each concha is deeply rendered and precise, the lines of the branches radiating outward with organic energy across the polished silver surface. The turquoise cardinal — a symbol of vitality and good fortune in many Native traditions — is inlaid with characteristic Navajo precision, its form clean and confident against the bright silver ground. The conchas are strung on a supple black leather strap, 36 inches in total length, with a matching silver scalloped buckle.

Signed J.L. (Jacob Livingston) on the reverse, this belt is a collectible example of mid-to-late 20th century Navajo silversmithing at its finest.
