This striking necklace showcases a series of oval Golden Hills turquoise stones, each framed in a sterling silver sphere beaded border and connected with handcrafted silver links. Known for its soft periwinkle blue hue and subtle golden to russet matrix, Golden Hills turquoise is mined in Kazakhstan and is prized for its distinctive color and rarity. The delicate silverwork adds vintage appeal while allowing the beauty of each stone to take center stage.

The distinctive Silver Spheres—Yellowhorse's signature design element—are individually hand-soldered to create a sophisticated dimensional effect.

About the Artist: Artie Yellowhorse

Artie Yellowhorse is known for her contemporary jewelry designs using high-quality stones and distinctive silversmithing. Her Navajo heritage comes through in the beautiful, creative pieces she designs and makes.

Artie Yellowhorse is a third generation Navajo jewelry artist from the Towering House Clan where her grandfather and father were silversmiths. Artie Yellowhorse continues the family jewelry making tradition and now has her daughters, Desiree and Le Lani, deeply involved in the creation and design of Yellowhorse Jewelry.

Yellowhorse designs are distinctive often featuring domed silver moons surrounded by handmade silver beads or drops that are individually made and soldered to the jewelry piece.

Golden Hill Turquoise showcases a Light Blue Stone with Lavender Hues. Its matrix can range from a deep Lavendar to deep Reds, Browns or Rust Colors. Like Turquoises from Egypt, Tibet or Persia, wherever you find Copper or Iron, there is the possibility of finding Turquoise. That's the case with Golden Hill Turquoise which is mined in Khazakhstan Russia. This Turquoise made its appearance in the US in 2018.
