The horse mask was used to make a warrior's horse look fearsome to his enemies, and to bring power and good fortune to both horse and rider.

This reproduction example was inspired by artifacts in the National Museum of the American Indian as well as modern recreations by other talented artists.

Materials: Deer hide, seed beads, trade beads, horsehair, buffalo horn, hair pipe, tin cones, brass spots, angora hide, and hawk bells.
