His artistic journey was nurtured by the generosity of an instructor at the art school in the nearby town of\u003cspan\u003e Krasnoyarsk. He also studied farming during his young life. In 1998, Valeriy and his wife Tamara Magdalina (an accomplished artist as well) relocated to the United States.  He yearned to paint what was in his heart. For Valeriy, that meant Siberian History, He also loved to paint the Plain Folk; those who tilled the land, raised the animals and taught the children. “No matter where you go in the world,\" Valeriy says, \"these people are the same. Their labor is what makes things good for everybody.
